On this day, Dec. 7th, in 1941, the Imperial Army of Japan attacked the Pearl Harbor U.S. naval base in Hawaii, killing over 2,000 servicemen and women, as well as civilians. This brought a vote the following day in the House and Senate to declare war on Japan.
