JFK and Potential Disaster.
On October 22, 1962, President John F. Kennedy announced an air and naval quarantine of Cuba. This came after the U.S. discovery of Soviet missiles on the island. The Cuban Missile Crisis is a case study in how the National Security Council works, how the different interests within the executive branch counter each other in an effort to advise the commander in chief.
